Birthday, more food, and pictures.

Elote, tres leches cake, funfetti cake, ice cream bar, barbecue, and photos is whats on the menu this week.

The foods so far we have already eaten and they relate to my birthday celebrations. On Tuesday we had a Mexican fiesta wherein my face was shoved into a cake (as is tradition). We also had elote (pictured above) which is corn on the cob with mayonnaise, cheese, hot sauce, chili powder, and lime juice...DELICIOUS! There was also a lot of fruit, and tres leches cake that Michele Call made that was superb. Yesterday for the fourth the David and Dawn Diaso came with a friend of theirs from Colorado Springs to celebrate the fourth and my birthday again! So we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, had funfetti cake (also made by Michile Call that was superb), and we also had an ice cream bar.

Another visitor for these birthday celebrations is Lindsay Anne. She will be here for a week and then will travel to other BEAMM cites along the border to document the work that BEAMM has done and make a commemorative video/picture slideshow. It has been great to have someone else around my age to get to know and she's enjoyed getting to know the Call family as well. Tonight she will accompany Ray and I in an Evangelistic Spanish Bible study starting this week in one of the apartments complexes, your prayers are appreciated. Tomorrow we will be venturing down to Rosarito to visit the church down there, and then coming back up for the ESL and Spanish Bible studies that happen at our Urban Life location.

Lindsay Anne flies out Tuesday to another locale, while the same day Emily Gryder will be flying in. It will be a busy week, but exciting nevertheless. Thank you all for your prayers!

  1. Here is a word from the Word for you my dear brother. As you go in His Name, remember, "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." Romans 10:14-17
